WELCOME TO OUR GUEST BOOK
Review websites are now an integral part of the travel industry and booking process but recent concerns about them being manipulated by service providers are a worry. By posting your comments about venues, properties and Westway Travel I can assure you of two things.

1) The right people will see them. By this I mean either you, Westway clients or other travellers will read reviews from like minded local people.
2) I will personally be following all comments and will add my thoughts to all postings.

Remember we are independent of all Tour Operators and hotels and have no bias towards any product range. It is my staffs’ job to make sure you experience the best holiday possible.

I thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the guest book.

Maxine got the two of us a very good deal including flights to Cape Town, 2 nights in a nice Boutique hotel overlooking Camps Bay and 11 nights in a very upmarket Bed and Breakfast in Prince Albert (especially enjoyed staying there as fabulous long pool and owners allowed guests to help themselves to drinks before dinner - no charge!! Not many places do that!!

Also included in the deal was the car hire.

Very reasonably priced hotel and great to leave all the arrangements to Westwaya Travel.

Many thanks for your email. The holiday was fantastic, the hotel was excellent in so many ways, the food, the staff, the facilities, the watersports, just about everything was 5 star.

If I was to be really critical then I would comment that the airport transfer took a long time, approx. 1 and ¾ hours in reality, which was a little unexpected but that is due to the terrain and roads etc. It may just be worth making sure that future guest realise this, it wasn’t a real issue, as you did see some much of the island as you travelled, thankfully both journeys were in daylight, it would been more of an issue in the dark. The bends (seemed like thousands of them ;) and hills in the dark could cause some motion sickness.

Thank you for all the help in selection and booking, especially keeping the surprise for my good lady.

Will pop in at some point in the future for the next trip, but will take some topping to beat this trip.

Kind regards

Dave

Firstly must say thank you to Maxine at Upminster branch for excellent service from start to finish . All travel arrangements and transfers were spot on, made everything very easy. Hotel, was ideal for a quite, relaxing, adult only break. Only downside was the location , was not ideal if you want to wander about and get a coffee and watch the world go by, but plenty to do regards excursions. Something for everyone . Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, very clean hotel.

Hi Cyan,

We just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time at the Melia Atlantico in Isla Canela. The hotel itself is lovely, the staff very friendly & helpful, and our 4th. floor room had a great view over the beach, exactly as you requested for us.

So, many thanks for all your help and professionalism.

Love, Denise & Fred.

Hi Cyan

Thank you for your email we had a lovely holiday,

Here is some feedback as we see it.

Cosis inn is a nice small well cared for B and B the rooms are clean and not bad size, our room overlooked the sea which was stunning. The bathroom is very snug but the shower worked and had good water pressure. The breakfast was typical for Greece cereal toast ham cheese boiled eggs and yogurt we also had a cake made every day.
Emma the lady who runs it was very nice and helpful with suggestions on things to do as well as places to eat, nothing was to much trouble for her.

The hire car was not great on one occasion breaking down on us and we had to bump start it to get it going again, if I did it again I would up grade the car.

Assos is a very sleepy village which had 1 super market 2 bars (which done limited food) and 4 terverna s , one of these had closed for the summer which left 3 to chose from.
The one thing we did not like was the place was full of cats in the terverna people were feeding them from the table which just encouraged them (yuk)

The walk from cosis inn to the terverna was down hill or if you took the short cut down lots of steps if you are recommending this place to people who has limited mobility they may struggle. Also the drive down to Assos is down a mountain very narrow with many turn and hairpins corners not for nervous drivers specially if coming back in the dark no street lights (scary).

The island is wonderful some places to visit are Sami, Argostli and our favourite Fiscardo if we went back this is where we would want to stay.

Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday

Kind regards
Ruth

Ian Prior reply: Thanks for taking the time to add your comments about your recent trip to Kefalonia. I love the island as well and stay in a hotel in Kefalonia called the Emillisse Art. If this is not for you then ask Cyan for the Sunvil brochure who have a couple of good properties in the area.

I thought your comments painted a perfect picture of Greece, Not everything works all the time but worth suffering for such a beautiful Country

We had a great holiday. Unfortunately no free upgrades with Virgin, but still comfortable flights.

The hotel was very good, probably the best Sandals so far, the only complaint was that there is very little shade around the pool for us “fair skinned” people who don’t sunbathe!!

The food was great in the various restaurants and we had our first experience of having the butler service. It took a bit of getting used to, the best part was they sort out the evening meal bookings and bring a cooler to the pool and reserve the loungers.

I managed to get in 3 scuba diving sessions and we went for a sail as well as the 3 activities we booked that were very good.

So overall a great holiday and thanks for your hard work putting it together once again.

Thanks

Dave Folkerd

Ian Prior reply: Unbeknown to you I have just finished a piece of work on Malta. I was in Valletta this summer and found like you there was plenty to see on the island. Yes it is a little old fashioned in places but the history, architecture and sun I think makes it a worthwhile destination to visit

Hello Cyan,

We had a very nice time in Malta although the temperature was very hot indeed. I read some bad comments on trip advisor before we went about the Park Hotel, this was after we had booked it. Perhaps I should have read that before, but it wasn't as bad as I expected although I wouldn't class it as a four star. It is tired and in need of some decorating and new carpets/beds etc. but I found our room, bathroom and linen to be very clean which is the most important thing. There was a good selection at breakfast too. The reception area was in an art deco style so that was very nice.

We have seen all we wanted to see on the island so we wouldn't go back in the near future.

Regards
Mrs Dobbs

Hi Cyan
Thank you so much for all your help. Mrs Hines and I were feeling very smug with our gorgeous rooms (whereas our friends that booked with Thomas Cook were just allocated what was left).
We had a great time. Sadly feels like we have never been away.
Best wishes
Lois

Ian Prior reply: Thanks for your generous comments and great news about the room. I have just spoken to Cyan and yes you did have the same room booked as your friends but she tells me she made a point of calling them and requesting the best room possible. In fact we do this for a lot of our clients and it is what sets Westway Travel apart. The costs are similar , the holiday identical but we believe that anybody booking with us will get a more attentive service.

Hi Cyan

The week away was excellent. No complaints with hotel, staff, room, food, all high quality. The area was also very good. Beaches, bars and eateries all good standard.

Would definitely recommend the area and the hotel, along with you and Westway Travel.

Thanks for all your help.

Best regards

Terry

Ian Prior reply: Good to read that you enjoyed Sardinia especially as I am considering it myself as a late summer break. You are unlike many other travellers by choosing a less popular destination but by taking the time to complete the guest book I hope that more of our clients take the recommendation of Sardinia on board

Thanks for your time and Kind words about Westway Travel
