Review websites are now an integral part of the travel industry and booking process but recent concerns about them being manipulated by service providers are a worry. By posting your comments about venues, properties and Westway Travel I can assure you of two things.

1) The right people will see them. By this I mean either you, Westway clients or other travellers will read reviews from like minded local people.
2) I will personally be following all comments and will add my thoughts to all postings.

This was a really memorable city break. The arrangements made by Tina and Kirker were very smooth. A nice car met us at Ciampino airport and took us to the hotel which was very welcoming and comfortable (a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates was awaiting us in our room - very nice!)

Rome is an amazing place - so much to see. But staying right in the centre of the city as we were, most of the must-see places were within easy walking distance, and we packed more into our five days than we expected.

Rome is very crowded, no question about that, but we found people to be very friendly and polite, and it was not a problem. You are never going to have the Sistine Chapel or the Colosseum to yourself, but we found it all very impressive all the same.

Thanks to Westway Travel and to Kirker - a really good holiday.

Ian Prior reply: Great to hear you had a memorable trip to Rome. Mind you in all honesty not a lot could go wrong. Tina is a good girl in my office, Kirker are a top quality tour operation and Rome as you say is an amazing place. I had my 25th wedding anniversary in the city and cannot wait to go back.

If it is not to be Rome then I hope you keep Westway Travel and Kirker as a winning combination

Sarah, We cannot thank you enough! It was fantastic Everything came together nicely. Singapore Airlines were brilliant lovely inflight service,our flight back from Penang was delayed,so our bags didn't get on a flight home, but a courier delivered them the next day & we were kept informed via text as to their whereabouts.

The Fullerton in Singapore was an ideal location for site seeing. Lovely big room excellent food. Raffles was amazing our only regret - we didn't book an extra night,really felt like I was in a 1920’s Agatha Christie book/film. Our courtyard suite was gorgeous!

Transfers: all lovely cars & drivers. Rasa Hotel in Penang gorgeous too would highly recommend.

Barry and I would like to thank Ian and Louise at Wickford for Organising our brilliant trip to Singapore, New Zealand and Australia. 55 days of travel, 7 flights, 3 lots of car hire and over 20 different stops requiring accommodation. Our late decision to travel left them very little time to sort out a complicated itinerary but it was completed within days! They also had to combine our journey with stopovers at friends and relatives.

We were so impressed at how smoothly everything went as we were moving at some considerable speed from town to town. The accommodation was excellent all the way apart from the Waitomo Caves Hotel, but it was our choice to go to there to visit the glow worm caves and there was very little option of where to stay. The location of this and all the other accommodation was brilliant. A lot of thought and expertise had gone into this.

Ian spent time listening to our 'ambitious plans' and his advice was invaluable. We certainly could not have attempted this without him and the team.

We have been singing their praises to friends and 'rellies' and we will be back when we need someone to take Abcare of us on our next adventure! :D

Your 55 days was a challenge to plan as you have to include so many different experiences and make sure they all compliment each other. I am please we got it right this time and when the next monster trip is on the horizon I look forward to being of help

Hello Cyan,
We had a lovely week in Lanzarote, although there was quite a strong cold wind but we have no control over the weather. The apartments we stayed in were kept very clean and although a bit basic in the kitchen department, you could ask for toasters etc. if you wanted them. We were just a ten minute walk from all the shops and restaurants in the main part of the resort and we had a supermarket and some restaurants within five minutes in the opposite direction. There was a lovely walk along a promenade which also took you into the main area of the resort. This took longer but it gave us an opportunity to do our daily walk and build up our step count. I would definitely go back again and definitely book a private transfer like we did this time as the complex is in a narrow street and people we were speaking to had to be dropped off and picked up in the main road at the top of the street. Because we were in a minibus it was able to drop us off and pick us up directly outside our apartments.

Thank you for your help with arranging this holiday for us and I will see you in a few weeks to pick up our tickets for our next holiday.

Once again what a great time we had in South africa. Many thanks to Tina, and have to say that ian was spot on with the Rovos Rail Train from Pretoria to Capetown, pure luxury. The staff and the food can not be matched. Nothing
was too much trouble. As the rand is 21.75 to our pound you cant spend your money. The other hotels and guest houses that we stayed in very good. All restuarants are very good quality, service and customer satisfaction is top of the agenda. Loads of sites to visit and beeches are stunning. Well Worth a visit go and see for yourself, you will be pleasantly suprised. :!cool:

Firstly, a couple of gripes.
We were not told the seaplane would stop to drop others first. After travelling some 12 hours I wanted to get to my resort ASAP, not a major issue but something that bugged me.

Secondly, for the first few days I looked like I had severe acne, the number of bites I received was unbelievable. My wife didn't suffer like me and the hotel put a net over our bed, something I would recommend to anyone stating at the resort they make a similar request. Plus take lots of repellant and after bite cream.

The staff are both extremely friendly and helpful throughout the resort, which itself is paradise. The food in the main restaurant was very varied and my wife enjotyed the variety. My taste is rather bland but there was always something available for me too. We ventured into the other restaurants and they too were very good. The bar staff in the bars were most friendly and you never had to wait long before being attended. With a great variety of brand names drinks our evenings were always enjoyable if not a little quiet.

The staff in the gym were also friendly and helpful, perhaps to helpful at times. Water aerobics every morning suited both myself and my wife as it worked up a nice appetite for canapés in the liquid bar after breakfast. The ice cream in the liquid bar is a must afternoon treat to cool you down from the afternoon sun.

We ventured on jet skis and, although expensive, is a must to run over those crystal clear waters. We snorkelled once and it was both well run and a new experience that we both enjoyed.

Due to my bites I called Westway and they were both very helpful and understanding, I actually contemplated returning home. They would call me whenever they said always enquiring about my welfare and if there was anything they could do. I was both extremely grateful and reassured.

We flew Emirates business class both ways from London to Male via Dubai. The extra money to travel in such style and comfort only adds to the experience.

In summary, the resort really is very well run, extremely clean, very friendly and of a very high quality. Would I return? Probably not but I'm extremely glad I've experienced such a beautiful place.

On a positive note I am so pleased you and your wife loved the island and that Claire, Cyan and the team were understanding of your predicament.

Many customers that choose to book online forget that it is nice to have a friendly voice on the end of the telephone if you have questions. If I had to make an observation my experiences of the Maldives are such that they Fog the island every week to kill the larvae before they get a chance to hatch. Was this not done because I will make a point of telling the island management and If Only that this situation is not acceptable

I see you were also travelling with Emirates and I am pleased you saw the value in the business class upgrade

Maxine got the two of us a very good deal including flights to Cape Town, 2 nights in a nice Boutique hotel overlooking Camps Bay and 11 nights in a very upmarket Bed and Breakfast in Prince Albert (especially enjoyed staying there as fabulous long pool and owners allowed guests to help themselves to drinks before dinner - no charge!! Not many places do that!!

Also included in the deal was the car hire.

Very reasonably priced hotel and great to leave all the arrangements to Westwaya Travel.

We pride ourselves with working with suppliers that offer slightly different holidays and this is highlighted in the fact you have a hotel giving you free drinks. Really unheard off. !!

Many thanks for your email. The holiday was fantastic, the hotel was excellent in so many ways, the food, the staff, the facilities, the watersports, just about everything was 5 star.

If I was to be really critical then I would comment that the airport transfer took a long time, approx. 1 and ¾ hours in reality, which was a little unexpected but that is due to the terrain and roads etc. It may just be worth making sure that future guest realise this, it wasn’t a real issue, as you did see some much of the island as you travelled, thankfully both journeys were in daylight, it would been more of an issue in the dark. The bends (seemed like thousands of them ;) and hills in the dark could cause some motion sickness.

Thank you for all the help in selection and booking, especially keeping the surprise for my good lady.

Will pop in at some point in the future for the next trip, but will take some topping to beat this trip.

Firstly must say thank you to Maxine at Upminster branch for excellent service from start to finish . All travel arrangements and transfers were spot on, made everything very easy. Hotel,was ideal for a quite,relaxing, adult only break. Only downside was the location , was not ideal if you want to wander about and get a coffee and watch the world go by, but plenty to do regards excursions. Something for everyone . Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, very clean hotel.

Ian Prior reply: yes Mauritius in not noted for it life outside a hotel, hence why many include food in the cost. Having said that pleased to read you enjoyed the hotel and found Maxines service at our Upminster office first class. thanks for taking the time to complete the guest book and I hope we can be of help to you on your next holiday
